Custepec is a well-positioned coffee brand and one of the best in the world. It is Rainforest Alliance Certified, which gives the company access to one of the most demanding and concerned markets about sustainability, within a framework of respect for the worker and nature. For the 2015/2016 harvest season Cafe Custepec offers a special line of coffee produced in carefully selected microclimates located above 1100 meters of altitude. This project consisted in the design of the signaling for the selected areas at the production site and the packaging of the special harvest.

The idea was inspired by the colors of nature and the variety of fauna living in the plantation area. Cafe Custepec is located in one of the most biodiverse places in Mexico, so we included a logo representing animals of the region in each of the different products. The packaging design was also inspired by the diverse tea packages found in the market. Normally one can find coffee in paper o plastic bags, so we proposed a metallic can and the client loved it!

The Adobe software package is the base of almost all of our work. For this particular project, we used Illustrator CS6 and Photoshop CS6. The images presenting the design were made on Photoshop. Almost all of them are Mockups created by the talented group of Mockup Zone.

We were a little bit skeptical about the metal can as a suitable package for the coffee beans, but the client and our closest friends loved it. So, in time we started appreciating it as well, discovering that even the awkward ideas can also become great successes.
