For Sara Kipin's second semester senior thesis, she wanted to redesign a preexisting series of illustrations. Because her first semester thesis was so dense, she wanted to be able to relax her brain a little and just turn out as many illustrations as I could in a 14 week period.

I ended up choosing the Suit of Swords (The Suit of Swords is representative of the element of Air.) from the Tarot deck not only because it was an excuse to draw sad fantasy knights, but because I felt like it represented my final semester at college pretty well.

I would describe my style as flat and line-less, but having a lot of detail. My artistic inspirations are old Rankin Bass films and Ivan Earle! My advice for my fellow artists is to have different artistic outlets other than just illustration. Art block can happen at any moment, and it's good to have different ways for that creativity to flow so you don't get stuck! I took up sewing and embroidery!
