The "Black" Series by Alice Wellinger
Austria based artist Alice Wellinger's paintings usually follow a concept and need hours to paint with acrylic colors and brushes. Sometimes she needs a mental and manual break. So Alice try to use totally different techniques. Collage, ink, stamp, ... or like for the "Black-series", simple color pencils.
I wanted to do something quick, spontaneous, with more emotion and less thinking... I didn't think of a "design" per se for the series at all. I just let it flow... "Fading memories" was the first drawing.

My style? I think it's for people to find a label! ;-) My inspiration are the everyday life, memories, news, found photos, night-mares! But the meaning of inspiration is overrated. You can't sit and wait for an inspiring flash. Being creative is hard work.

The best advice I can give is to be diligent, be critical, be persistent.
