Vincit Beer is a gift for Marco Vincit clients, partners and also his friends. It was conceived to celebrate all 2015’s victories and to celebrate the arrival of 2016. It is also a tribute to the poet Publius Virgilius Maro, whose quotes served as inspiration to his last name. It represents his best wishes to everyone who’s by his side, every day, learning and achieving amazing things together.

Originally, the project was to develop a gift that somehow could be stored or consumed. While talking to a friend about the project, we came out with this idea of doing a small amount of a craft beer with an exclusive and customized label that would somehow represent myself, my personal taste in design. My style is basically simplistic. I believe that the fewest elements we use, the bigger is the impact.

The symbol used in the bottle is the letter "Phi" (Φ), the 21st letter Greek alphabet, but in a more simplistic style. I choose this letter because it is related to the “the golden ratio”, which is one of my passions and for me summarizes what design is about design, which is to converge the aesthetic and the functional. The shapes and primary colors tells a lot about what i believe to be a good design. In my opinion, we need to explore more and evolve the studies to reach a pleasant and timeless design.

The choice for the yellow was personal. Yellow has always been my favorite color. I used a more vibrant shade to empower the heat, the bright and the positive vibrations i meant to show int he project. The yellow circle it’s somehow a representation of our planet’s biggest star, the sun. My last name, Vincit, was chosen because of the quote from one of the greatest Roman poets, Publius Virgilius. Vincit comes from Latin and means winning. This concept of winning with partners and friends is amazing, and it fits perfectly with one of Virgilius’s quote: "Omnia Vincit Labor Improbus" which means "Work Conquers All”. This creates a perfect conceptual connection.

Winning is never being alone, growing comes as the result of our daily battles. More than just a drink, Vincit Beer is a symbol of gratitude and a representation of our victories, those we had and those that are yet to come. Cheers to all my friends, partners and clients for making 2015 such a uniq year, full of challenging and rewarding projects. And last but not least, the bottle was wrapped in paper, to give it that gift unwrapping feeling.
