I designed a layout and made different animated videos and static posts for social media to communicate the collaboration of Michelob Ultra in ‘What a Woman’, an event about women who empower women. The event was communicated before, during and after it took place, so a series of materials were created under the same Key Visual. This project took place on March 2019, Mexico City.
There had to be a clear mashup of styles between the beer brand and the event, without creating an ugly Frankenstein. Once I had created the Key Visual, I decided to animate it because of the great amount of information displayed and because in an Instagram Story a video is more accurate and attractive for users.
I used Adobe Illustrator for the vectorized logos, and for everything else I used Photoshop. I first created a layout and then added the movement with the timeline tool. I dowloaded a song from the Youtube Audio Library (one that did not require attribution) and I imported it into my Photoshop file. I exported the video and that was it.
The first material was posted before the event and the response was pretty good. People liked my project and asked questions about the event on social media. The fact that it had movement and sound helped a lot, and the way both brands looked together was perfect. The other materials were posted during the event and afterwards, but definitely the previous posts were the ones with a better response.
