Well I've been thinking of creating a photo series of Aurora Borealis in monochrome format for a long time and this fall I finally got to do it - thanks to active space weather. I wanted to concentrate on the shapes and luminosity of the northen lights. When you take out one element (colors) one can focus more on these features of the photo. In the end this was kind of a study for myself to look this theme from a different angle.

I know this is a mouthful but I think modern fine art nature photography describes it best. I really enjoy looking the works of Marc Adamus and Alexandre Deschaumes for example.

Well, the most important thing is to keep in mind that it takes time to evolve in photography. Try to find your own style. Most of the time you may be finding yourself deleting failed photos.
Great part of photography (or pretty much of everything in your life) is that you can learn from your mistakes. And when you succeed to create a good photo, it’s really rewarding.

Very often people don’t pay enough attention to what’s around them. So it's important to stop and take a good look – you might see something interesting.
