Winter is Here
This project is a 6 color screen print based on HBO's Game of Thrones. Designed by Mindkillerink commissioned by Under the Floorboards *UK.
The concept was based on the client's request, for a design relating to Game of Thrones, without using any people. The idea behind the design is Winter has finally come, yet no one has heeded House Stark's message. Other bits of symbolism include a spiral like design, the seal, the scroll, ravens, and the Weirwood leaves.
The concept was based on inspiration from the show mixed with specific client requests.
I choose to use my style incorporating abstract splash like design elements infused with clean crisp detailed linework.
I always work in a digital format for easy replication / job requirements.
Color wise I knew from the beginning that I wanted to use the red weirwood leaves within the illustration, so a nice contrasting complementary color set only seemed natural to me. The raven also needed to be darker, so blue / red color set was perfect.
I use Adobe Photoshop CS6 and a 22in HD Cintiq powered by a Surface Pro 3 i5. My process is always the same, starting with a digital sketch(s), then linework, then layers of stacked color, edits, and finally color separation for printing.

The feedback has been pretty substantial so far, its has reached into the top 5 most viewed / appreciated projects on my Behance, and has done equally well on all social media, but currently I don't have any sales numbers. In roughly a month or so the design will be screenprinted limited to 100. I assume it will do well, but only time will tell.
