The project "Yalta" by Irina Gorbacheva was born after her trip to Crimea in 2013-2014. This peninsula still belonged to Ukraine and she went every year there to have a rest in the summer. Every year, as well as all the tourists, she saw the beautiful sea, well-groomed embankments and unforgettable sunsets.

But in December, 2013 we decided to celebrate New Year in Yalta. As all tourist places have already been investigated, I went deeper into the city and saw absolutely other view. I thought that time had stood here: the Soviet culture still lived in the yards of this city. We usually see identical photos from the most known tourist places against crowd of people, but I wanted to show the real city, without luster and tourist panoramas (except the Swallow's nest which I saw without people for the first time).

My hobby is to walk with the camera on the abandoned buildings or unattractive streets. They store the history and the inexpressible atmosphere. Many people don't notice beauty around themselves. I try to find this beauty in the most ordinary and sometimes strange things.

I try to work in different styles - from landscapes to portraits. But shooting of architecture and landscape is closer to me. I have no specific inspirations, every day I absorb a lot of visual art in myself.

Do that makes you happy and don't recede from your dream. I usually use Canon 60D with Canon 17-55 2.8 and Canon 50 1.4.
