Coastal Geometry by Aleksandr Smirnov

Aleksandr Smirnov

Miss the sea? Aleksandr Smirnov's will make you reminisce about your time on the beach. Basking in the sun and hearing the waves crashing in. Most of Aleksandr's photos are related to the sea. During walks near the sea he saw the various objects that form the visual minimalist images, abstracted from the reality of everyday life.

When shooting seascapes I often use long exposures. Also I like to spend time in desolate places, away from urban civilization and where you can be alone with nature. This world, minimalistic and desolate, I try to convey in my photos.

In the style chosen by me I photograph about five years. And also I'm experimenting with minimalistic images in color. There are a few photographers whose photos I like so far, but I didn't try to copy anybody and now I do not have specific inspirations. I try to take pictures based on my vision and my sensations.

Project ‘Coastal Geometry’ is a series of color images of various constructions on the sea coast. They are united by forms, lines, geometry, symmetry. Is selected a certain angle, certain fragments of these constructions in order to achieve the necessary result. I plan to continue this project.

I use a digital camera format APS-C, tripod and remote control. I do not use any special lenses. Only standard zoom lens.
