Conarte is the council for culture and art in the city of Monterrey, Mexico. Conarte aims to promote and stimulate artistic expression and supports the preservation and enrichment of culture. Wanting to have a new look, Conarte approached Anagrama to redesign their library.

Our mission was to create a space that gives value to the experience of reading. A design-intelligent space was created for the bookshop and library granting value to the reading experience. Our design proposal focuses on creating a space that wraps the reader in. The bookshelves attend more that just their basic function and were designed to simulate a dome that plays with the visual perspective.

We don’t really have a style, since this changes based on the needs of a project. We always start off from a design formula that we can use to manipulate the impact that we want achieved. We focus on the important fragments that play with a beautiful visual idea that complements the message and the concept for the brand. We’re inspired by many things, our team works in different projects simultaneously so we constantly find ourselves surrounded by different forms of inspiration.

The stands incorporate a color gradient finish that attributes depth. The illuminated half circle found in the back wall simulates the vanishing point of the structure, creating a perfect balance between color and perspective.

Organization is so important, working in a clean manner, and using your time efficiently are all important skills. When start a project well organized, the process ends up being more fluid and natural. Listening to the client and their needs, analyzing the brief. Always take a look at what is happening outside instead of only focusing on the competitors.
