Today's illustration grew out from a commissioned project for Brandon Johnson's friend from a dodgeball team. He made fun characters for this project. Let us read on and feel free to tell us what you think about his illustrations. Enjoy!

This illustration grew out of a commissioned project for a good friend’s dodgeball team. Because the team was comprised of the owner and employees of a comic book store I really had free reign to come up with some fun characters. After finishing the initial image of the team I realized that there should really be some villains or rival teams as well. Designing odd and unique characters is the best part of my job and without any constraints I was free to do just that. Teams or groups are always a favorite to design because you get to play off all the different shapes, personalities and attributes of the individuals. That balance of contrasts between the variations such as size, color, shape and scale is something difficult to achieve in just a single character.
