“To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other and to feel. That is the purpose of life.” - Cihan Unalan. Explorer Portraits came about when Cihan was working on a campaign for Miles & Smiles - a Turkish airlines.
Last year I was working on the new campaign for Miles & Smiles (Turkish Airlines). It was a story about great explorers. So on the set we had so many cool costumes, plastic makeup and a great cast. After we shot what we needed to shoot, I asked 4 of the cast to stick around so that we could shoot something extra for ourselves.

They did and we had a quick session for an hour and we ended up with these images. The backgrounds were pre-prepared, printed 2mx1m and everything was carefully planned. Overall it was a fun project to work on.

About Cihan Unalan
Cihan Unalan while growing up, have always been incredibly fascinated by movies, mysteries, super heroes, science fiction, and adventure stories which have become his main source of inspiration. Today, he works as a photographer in Istanbul, shooting local and international campaigns. Outside of work - which takes up most of his time - he have always loved collaborating with other talented people from around the world.
