Fanfiction by Sophie Blackhall-Cain
'Fanfiction' which was Sophie Blackhall-Cain first solo show held in January 2015 at theGRID in Toowoomba. She reinterpreted 20 of her favourite books, from fantasy to classics. Now, let's see her awesome artworks!
The type of genre of the book dictated the design: some got simple books covers, others were more in-depth studies of the characters or situations in the book. Literature is my biggest passion apart from illustration - I wanted a fun project which would marry both of them!

Bright, fun with a slathering of mid-century modern design influence, particularly Mary Blair. Talent matters very little - what actually matters is hard work and perseverance.

about Sophie Blackhall-Cain
Sophie Blackhall-Cain is an illustrator living up a mountain (specifically: Toowoomba) with a menagerie of pets (specifically: Gideon the tabby, Artemis the burmilla, and Arthur the greyhound). She completed a dual degree in Law and Creative Industries at Queensland University of Technology before turning freelance full-time. Sophie adores creating bright, fun designs with generous helpings of vitality and narrative and is particularly interested in editorial and children’s illustration. Revelling in colour, shape and texture, she lives by one simple rule: art should never be boring. When she's not illustrating, she's usually found drinking dangerous amounts of tea and indulging in her other passion: literature. See more of her works on Behance or her website.
The color are very vibrant, I love it!
