Ikea features Scandinavian modern style furniture and accessories. Includes storage options, lighting, decor products, kitchen appliances and pet care. Ikea is one of the most popular furniture company that designs and sells ready-to-assemble furniture. 3D Designer Yanis Lachat wanted to try to practice his skills.
The idea for the Ikea kitchen images was to approach the render quality and style of the real Ikea images that we see in the brochure. As a personal challenge, I decided to remodel the kitchen and make variations in the mood, color and lighting. I also took the opportunity to feature the work of my friend Guido Lanari from Glid studio.

I take my inspiration in photography of course, and from the work of the most inspiring 3D artists, ( alex roman, bertrand benoit, luxigon, mir studio, etc..) I don't have much advice to give to new artist as I still consider myself as a learner. I would advise maybe not to look too much in other's 3D work but more in real photography and real life in order to avoid copying instead of creating. I myself often make that mistake.

About Yanis Lachat
Yanis Lachat is originally from the French part of Switzerland, he studied architecture during for years before leaving to San Francisco to study fine art. He stayed two years there and came back to Europe to finish his study. First in Brussels, and finally in Paris. Yanis got his first job in Geneva in a graphic design agency. He then started to teach himself 3D with cinema 4D first, and 3dsmax... He got a job in the 3D field for architecture and he never stopped learning since then.
