Japan by Arunas Kacinskas

Arunas Kacinskas project 'Japan' is an editorial illustration project created for promotion reasons inspired by the Japanese culture. The main goal is to attract social media attention and possible future clients.

As describing my style in the correct terms, I would say that it's 2d flat vector style with some textures. Also I like to use strict lines and shapes to create the characters and buildings. I try to use as less details as possible to create something that catches viewers eye and gives some information about my illustration projects. My biggest inspiration is music, life and movies. Also my colleagues who are working hard and puts me on the toes.

I've created the series of editorial illustrations inspired by the Japanese culture. Being a big fan of Monocle magazine and Japan, I've decided to create this project and pitch them for freelance work. I hope that this style of illustration will convince you and Monocle that I'm the right guy for the job.

Regarding the advice to others, I would say that the most important thing is to love what are you doing and the other stuff like success, money, career will come eventually. Don't overwork and keep yourself healthy as the most important thing to nail the brief is then we are most relaxed and confident.
