New Illustrations - Late 2015 by Julien Monsta

Mixed-media artist Julien Monsta's project "New illustrations" is a compilation of his various illustrations in the late 2015. His illustrations are mostly minimal and almost geometrical with the style he use.

Here is a series of illustrations where I tried to tell a story, or at least to introduce a story to let people imagine what happens next. And if that can awake a part of their childhood, that's a cool thing. I don't really know how to describe my style... sometimes it's sharp and detailed and sometimes it's spontaneous and drippy.

My inspirations mainly came from my childhood - with cartoons, comics, manga, toys and that kid's "innocence". I like to balance all of this with a slice of the sadness of today... The best advice I can give is: Don't worry, Be happy. Do what you want to do, whatever people say. Hakuna Matata!

About Julien Monsta

After many years of hard work doing bodyworks paintings in a small garage lost in countryside, Julien Monsta decided to become independent, and tries to express his feelings through paintings, drawings, murals or sculptures. A contrasting universe appears under his pencil stroke, where games stand alongside death, where monsters are both cute and terrifying and where dreams blend into nightmares.
