Visualization Exercise by Paula Costa

Paula Costa's "Visualization Exercise" was a school project in SCAD, Paula was requested by her professor to create an object/structure applying what she has learned using rhino and illustrator tools for design development and presentation. Let's she what she's made!

I produced this artwork for the class of Visualization in Electronic Design in SCAD. I created a ground object and another object that work together as a composition. I started this design by studying lines, creating surfaces and shapes and deforming them as you can see in the process image. My design is light and clean even with all elements and materials applied.

My main challenge was produce a modern, elegant form, clean but at the same time show the materials and textures applied. I do not recognize a single style in my production but a composition. My references come from contemporary, modern architecture and also from monolithic forms.

I do not think I am able to give advice with my short life experience but if I can say something would say what a professor told me once. Try to enjoy the learning opportunities in school as much as you can and find people with the same interests that you to share knowledge and learn something new. Competitions are a great opportunity to find people to work with and learn.
