Illustrator Kitikhun Vongsayan, to get inspiration from his projects loves observing people. He loves going to places to watch people and since then, it has become a habit for his art works. And now, Kitikhun will show us a project inspired by coffee shops in San Francisco.

Most of the time when I want to do my project, I will go around the town to find a good spot, coffee shop, or park. To me, seeing people and things around me is so interesting in so many ways, I just can’t help myself to sketch them out. Eventually, it becomes my routine, and I decided to do some live painting too. Live sketch also helps me to get through all the mess in my head, be free, and refreshing my thought.

Because all of them are live paintings, so basically, I wanted to capture the mood of the moment, and tried to illustrate the feeling of the particular moment that I felt. I was trying to find the good shape, lighting, and moment to draw or paint. I was just trying to capture the very moment that touched me.

To me, I’m trying to pursue and play with elements that I see, and try the best I can to push those elements to make an interesting, and meaningful piece of art. To be honest, I’m trying to focus on telling the message from my art to the audiences, so I don’t really think of the style of it much. For me, observation of people, and things around me is so inspiring. In my opinion, everything happens all the time, and it always surprises me.
