Having some experience with components design for the automotive industry,
Matteo decided during those last years to design for his own a collection of wheels based on his taste.
He say that because sometimes inside big companies is not so easy to create a product only following your taste, and at the end of the day your discover that design is maybe not anymore designing but putting agree a group of people to go in an unique direction.
Some of those wheels are really simple other a bit more complex, Matteo think variety is a key during a design presentation process.
By the way any one of those wheels are really futuristic or conceptual , they are designed to be produced now.
If someone is expecting some more SCI>FI stuffs, just wait few months.

Just showing what Matteo able to do out from OEM's.
About color and materials , he simulate the traditional materials used for wheels as Aluminium and plastics.
About the style Matteo took references from the wheels design family feeling from different brands.
He have been working on the wheel strategy for a couple of OEM\'s.

Design: hand drawing and photoshop , 3D and Renderings softwares as Alias and Keyshot and post production with Photoshop.
The 3D modelling is done with alias and basically when you design a wheel is good to have already a clear idea of what the pizza will look like, you normally split the wheel in pizzas or cheese splits or cakes etc. Once you have you design proposal for the pizza in Photoshop, you repeat that radially 5 times 7 times etc depending on how many spokes you want. After that you have to put your pictures in the 3d modeler as background and you start the game, you have to start with the pizza and understand where to make the splits, a wheel is a circle so is 360> , is you design a five spoke wheel , your model should cover a 72> degree space if asymmetric and a 36> degree is symmetric in this last case your just design half of the pizza and mirror it.
Once your model is done , the work is done , you can mill it or you can render it is up to the timing on the design process.

Matteo hope they respond well. He decided to share it on facebook and behance and on my personal website .
As he say previously is a continue work in progress , design is a continue work in progress.
He hope to post more designs as soon as possible. Also some of a wheels he have done inside some OEM'S are still not in production. To put in production one wheel it took a lot of time (sometimes a year or more). let see how will react people to real things because at the end of the day those designs he did are just images.
