Serpentine Summer Pavilion 2016
Serpentine gallery every spring has a tradition to open an architectural pavilion for summer events. These pavilions were and is made by most famous architects in the world. The summer pavilion's of the year 2016 is Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) architects.
It was always a dream to visit an opening of the summer pavilion and photograph it.
Every space or an object has his surroundings. The Serpentine summer pavilion's surroundings is Hyde park - nature, forest, greenery atmosphere and Serpentine gallery as a well known gallery in the world.
It was important to show the greenery all around and a hint of Serpentine gallery as place to recognize. These factors made an influence to the composition of the photographs. Despite the opening there were quite a lot of people there, so they helped to reveal how the pavilion is used by people and showed the pavilion's scale and size. The weather was brilliant and the sun helped to reveal the volume and extraordinary atmosphere in the evening.
For the pictures i use digital camera and most popular software photographers use. Usually I am correcting the lightness, colors and perspective of the picture. If there is a need, I do final retouching to reveal the idea of the photograph and object if it is necessary.
I was working with photographs in one of Starbucks in London after the session. While I was there a few people started a conversation with me because they had draw attention to the pictures they saw in my computer's screen. It was a good feeling to hear a good feedback from them especially we met first time.
What I have learned from this project - I saw architects and architectural photographers who are ones of most famous in the world. They acts as ones because of their experience and knowledge. The most experience I had learn is an opportunity to study the Serpentine summer pavilion's photographs of all the photographers who where there and re-think about the best scenario of taking pictures to reveal the project in my pictures.
