Contax I by Ryo Asakura
Photorealism is a genre of art that encompasses painting, drawing and other graphic mediums, in which an artist studies a photograph and then attempts to reproduce the image as realistically as possible in another medium. In this project, a classic camera is the inspiration. We are in for a treat from our artist, Ryo, for he has been doing this medium for quite sometime and has done a great job with this project - meticulously accurate details. You'll be surprised as how realistic it looks.
This project is experimental work for modeling, photorealistic rendering and texturing.

It took me about 4 days to complete the project. 2 days for modeling, 1 day for texturing and lighting 1 day for rendering and finishing works. The meaning behind it is for studying, to create more realistic CGI such as you are already able to touch.

Classic camera has a very simple form with complex beautiful texture. It has a very simple square body or scuffed body, distorted corner, smoked metal, etc.. All material is very beautifully “Classical”, so I tried to replicate “Classic” in rendering.

I used CINEMA 4D R16, Octane Render, Photoshop CC and Illustrator CC.
