This project was made for a London based felt jewelry brand. Client's idea was to make an Art Nouveau style logo, that will combine modern approach, and at the same time appear cozy and handmade. I liked this unusual and controversial combination, which seemed to be a challenging opportunity to test my designer and artistic skills. I was expected to come up with the original logo design, corporate identity summary and presentational page as well.

After completing a thorough research through quite a number of Art Nouveau images, applied art and architecture, I've chosen a shape, that fused classic shape with modern styling. I came to a conclusion, that warm palette would give cozy and handmade feeling to the image, so I worked with that color scheme. As for the presentation, organic materials, like wood on the background and a hank of wool deepen the “handmade” impression.

While creating the logo, I started with drawing a few sketches by hand. Then scanned them and used Illustrator as a main tool and a bit of Photoshop to finish it off. For the presentation I used premade photoshoot and Photoshop for arrangement.

This work has been widely acknowledged by the audience and the client. New logo made the brand recognizable and helped to boost sales. As for me, I learned a lot about Art Nouveau in the process of exploring the reference material. Also it was a good experience of merging together ideas, that seemed to be controversial at first glance.

Thank you for watching! Have a good day!
