It's a combination of a fruit banana and a sea animal octopus combined.
I was just sketching octopuses in the sketchbook and attempted at morphing octopus with other subjects and thus coming up with this imagery. Granted it's not an original idea, but happy with my own version.
I started with pen, pencil on paper. Once I'm satisfied with the sketch, I took a picture and imported to Adobe Photoshop and did the digital illustration on top the sketch.
People seems to enjoy it, it was meant to be a T-Shirt Design.
