Dive into an universe, bring a brand essence from this trip.

I work on a innovation consultancy at Sao Paulo. Working on a place that mix thing up is a hell of an experience. This third project came to me last year, so I built the brand and the concept. The naming process was already done when I came to guide the whole branding process. The brief here was to create a brand project for Cloudbay, a company focused on knowledge management for projects.

The brand has 3 pillars: education, technology and knowledge that has been used on the brand's construction.

The naming process was lead by taking parts of the owner's company life to combine with his work. We discovered that surf was his passion out of his programmer life, so we put it together: work and play. The sea, the journey of dealing with unespectating things was the perfect universe to take his fears away. It's not about where ou store it, but about how you manage information. Cloudbay born with a simple symbol that mixes a palm tree with a sequence of boxes that reminds of a sequence of files. The palette was chosen from the shades of the sea, from the dark deep waters to the clear sands of the beach. The typography is a mix of two types: condensed and sans serif, so the contrast is given.

I used illustrator to start working with the logo, I wanted something simple but recognizable so the users could easily absorb the intention. The oceanistic universe was defined so I brought three concept options with three different moods. The client was into this final one. To bring life into this creation I used photoshop as seen on the presentation.

The impact of bright colors with some neutral scenes is one of the most commented things. Above visual things I believe on a bigger impact: the connection of people with the brand. Unfortunately the client didn't took the project further, he almost gave up of his company and now he works alone. Anyway, he has all the work we've done in his hands so he can use it when ready.
