Elo
The Elo is an innovative space heater in its simplicity and functionality. The neat aesthetic makes it easy to integrate in any interior, and the application brings more clarity and control. This heater is equipped of smart sensors to recommend the best temperature range to save energy. The Elo is accessible to everyone in term of budget and usage.
I was used to have a basic space heater when I was a student. It was a really frustrating product in its usage and aesthetic. The control is really low, with most of the time no feedback and the design is pretty bad. So I wanted to make a space heater that fit better our interior and our usage, with keeping in mind the low cost aspect and the simplicity.
The Elo's design is minimalist to suit every interior, but also to minimize the manufacturing's cost.
This project started by the observation of the current market and the new trends (shape, color, material...). After a better understanding of the target, I sketched quickly some ideas and refine them slowly. An analyse of some current heater helps me to define a final direction. During all this phase I sketch and model on Rhino at the same time to have a good overview of the proportions, surfaces and assembly of the parts. The 3 software I used to create this project are Rhinoceros, Keyshot and Photoshop.
The response is good, I got nice feedback from people, and more feedback and question are always welcome. I learnt from every project I made as there is always new experience, process and innovation to consider. The challenge in this one was to keep it easy to manufacture with a minimalist and neat aesthetic that brings modernism in the space heater's world.
