Fabrizio's Pizza is a local Italian style pizza factory and restaurant who contacted art director Rafa Miguel through a mutual friend. They were interested in an identity change and he immediately fell in love with the project, the whole process from logo to stationary took about a months work. But it was a great project and Rafa really enjoyed it.

I always start on paper, I jot down some ideas and throw some lines. With lettering I start sketching out the word or a few letters I have an idea what I would like to look like. Then I go and tune in to the details. Fabrizio's took a lot of sketching and dribbling I was invested completely in the project.

I wanted like a vintage looking logo, something that even though the restaurant was rather new speaks experience. I would say my style is inspired by old school american tattoos, i love the style and looks of these images. I usually look through them as references. I admire Tyrsa's work, he has amazing style, Yani & Guiille also an awesome couple with great work. Joluvian is another inspiration and really so many more.

About Rafa Miguel

Rafa Miguel was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. He love every corner of their island and proudly represent it anywhere he go and with his work. Rafa majored in advertising in UNIBE a college after he moved to Buenos Aires for a year and studied Art Direction in Brothers Argentina and a few courses in Espacio Virgen such as Comercial Lettering with Ale Paul and "Fibra" with Silvia Cordero Vega.
