Well, first of all my name is Luthando which means love in my native tongue which is Xhosa, a language from South Africa. I noticed in the past few years we've become self centered as a society and there has been a lot of hate in world. Which is why I decided to start this project to make us love each other again.

I came up with this idea when I was doodling around in Illustrator. I wanted to create a project called "I Love Joburg" ,Johannesburg is where I'm from, that's when the idea came to my mind that maybe love is bigger than my city. That's when I started focusing on the word love and different forms of love. I want to start a love movement around the world that will make us love each other again.

I used Illustrator to create the artwork. I start by creating a basic heart shape in Illustrator. Then I started experimenting with color. I wanted to use a color palette that will make the graphics pop so I decided to go with neon colors. I wanted to with something fun and you that young people can relate to so I decided to go with rounded fonts and bright colors. The message had to fit in an icon that's why the artwork has kind of square composition. If you follow my work you notice that in my previous work I use neon colors a lot.

People actually love the project, there's actually been demand for branded T-Shirts with this slogan. I want to create products that have this slogan. I think that's the best way to share this message. I'm creating an online store called Togu (togu.co.za) where I will sell the T-Shirts.

I’m an illustrator, designer, and developer. I have a passion for illustration, design, UI, UX, app development and games. Basically, I’m interested in anything that has something to do with new age technology. I’ve built some of the first Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality apps in South Africa for Mercedes and MTN while I was a designer and developer for a small startup in Maboneng. I then moved to one of the biggest digital agencies in South Africa, AquaOnline, where I worked as a web developer on some of the biggest brands like Coca-Cola, Mercedes, ShowMaxx and MTN.

I recently started a creative agency called War where we create beautiful work for clients such GKD, MTN and Mercedes Benz.
