Cosmic Structures by Miguel Lima
The Cosmic Structures project is a personal artwork by digital artist Miguel Lima in which atmosphere, architecture and sci-fi/apocalyptic moods are explored. In fact it is just a cluster of studies, relatively quick to concept, contributing to his own development and learning. However, it is a project that he certainly intends to further explore and develop. Not being sure yet of what it can be turned into.
It is a set of fully digitally generated images. They arose from my willing to study and explore mysterious environments. Wide places either with some architectural references or only with some kind of structure. Plain, yet deeply rich and meaningful atmospheres. References for this project are based on the communist soviet architecture, it’s just genius and I always felt fascinated by. Both superb architectural structures in marvelous environments inspired me for this work. Some of the constructions are even present in the images I created.

It is not simple to identify where my inspiration is coming from. It is definitely a combination of loads of inputs. I could though identify some potential artists that might be influencing my work nowadays. Artists like James Zapata, Yuri Shwedoff, Piotr Jabłoński and Vasili Zorin, for example.

Nevertheless, cinema and principally music have had a big impact on the themes I have been working on. They are able to mold and guide the mood I work with, influencing therefore the outcome of my artwork. That is maybe the reason why I do not have a defined art style, which allows me to change and pursuit alternative approaches disrupting with old ones.

If I could give an advice it would be to never ever stop working hard. To never stop trying to raise up your projects to an higher and outstanding level and always strongly pushing forward your artwork. With, and after this, I believe good things can happen!
