Several of Mario De Meyer's personal typography projects are inspired by music, and "Pure New Pleasure Seeker" is no exception. Music is a huge inspiration source for Mario, it's the first thing he put on when he wake up, and the last thing he turn off at night, this project was inspired by the Moloko song 'Pure Pleasure Seeker'.

The work was inspired by an earlier work I did for AIGA (the design quotes). That work was very geometric, I wanted to take the technique further and add some fun to it. I wanted it to look fun, colorful with a lot of movement. The eccentric personality of Roisin Murphy (singer of the song) was certainly an inspiration.

I don't know if I'm a graphic artist who has 'a style', I just try to keep a certain philosophy in mind when designing. I like my works to be colorful and intense for example, these are 2 things that you will find in all my works. I'm inspired by a lot of people, too much actually to put them in a list :)

Get you stuff out there, share and get feedback. Don't be afraid to make mistakes but don't forget to learn from them. It's only by doing what you want to do, you will improve your skills.
