Assassin's Creed Syndicate : Jack the Ripper (dlc) by Morgan Yon
French concept artist Morgan Yon's "Assassin's Creed Syndicate : Jack the Ripper" was set in the late 19th century, a mood plunge into the dark streets of London whitechapel district. 20 years after the events of Assassin's Creed Syndicate, 'Jack the Ripper' has embarked on a brutal reign of terror that shocks London to its core and threatens the very existence of the Brotherhood of Assassins.
I obviously had to use some dark and cold colors. Contrasts were very important as well and I decided to keep my paintings quite desaturated. I think it better serve my subject and give a tiny bit of "historical" framing...

Mostly photoshop but sometimes I used 3D mesh as a basis on the early stage of the painting.
I usually start with a quick black and white sketch using big shapes and brushes. Once am ok with composition and ligthing, I begin working on textures and painting. At final stage, I used some of photoshop filters and colors correction.

Dark pictures are always easier to paint but this is a trap. I had to take care of painting something too dark and not readable by the end, that's why sometimes I struggled a lot with certain pieces. I learned a lot from those !
