Cyber U
Cyber U is a center of interaction, entrepreneurship and art founded fifteen years ago. It’s constituted by three academies: Art, Business and Technology. Its anniversary presented the opportunity and challenge to renovate its visual identity, making it an accurate representation of its expertise, while at the same time giving it a modern look.
The logo had to represent the three academies. First, I was inspired by connections, both physical and symbolic: art processes, computer chips and synapses in our nervous system.
That’s how I developed a synthesis based on connections that forms the U and can transform itself into other symbols, depending on the need of each academy: an arrow for Business, a pencil for Art and a computer of Technology.
Furthermore, the color palette was chosen to be vibrant so it captured the attention of a young and innovative audience.
I made a lot of sketches, and when I got the style I was looking for, and I really liked it, I scanned it and I vectorized it in Adobe Illustrator, and finished with some details in Adobe Photoshop
Different icons were created and served to make a pattern which communicated the concept of the brand.
Cyber U received a positive response after the visual upgrade. There was a noticeable increase in the enrollment, due to its website now offering a more agreeable user experience and the information of every course being easier to obtain.
They caught the idea that I wanted to represent.
And I’ve to say it, I’m very pleased with the final result.
Each project is always different and you always learn something new; that’s how you keep growing. The best advice I can offer would be to investigate, investigate, investigate. That’s how you find the brand DNA. This way, you’ll enrich your portfolio and love it, not just because it looks pretty, but because it’s made up of work that has meaning.
