Las Montañas by Josh McCausland
Josh McCausland's project "Las Montañas" wasn’t very planned. He was in a creative block at work trying to create a logo. Then he saw some mountains in his mind and decided to draw a landscape in Photoshop.
I just started drawing in Photoshop. It wasn’t really planned. I knew I wanted a mountain but I just started drawing hills and added some trees and then some birds and before I knew it, I had something nice looking. I came up with the idea from a logo design I saw. It included a mountain “peaking” (ha-ha get it?) out from behind a circle crest.

My style is very clean and modern. But, I am a film guy so I tend to look at composition. I wouldn’t consider myself locked into any particular style. If you look at my Behance page, you can see I am sort of a sporadic designer. My inspirations are really the people I surround myself with. I follow great people on Behance that all I need to do is log in and be inspired. There isn’t one particular person I am inspired by graphically. There is just a vast community of artists who constantly inspire me every day just by posting their works.

Just keep doing. Don’t stop creating, because it’s the one thing that keeps us artists alive. When you have a weird idea, write it down. If you feel the need to create something, just do it. I am a do-er more than I am anything else. I gain inspiration and I just go for it in all my works, because life is too short to lose ideas.
