We are pleased to present our very own map of Little Tokyo, Düsseldorfs buzzing center of Japanese cultural life with countless great restaurants, shops, bakeries and everything else the Japanophile is looking for. Our office is located right in the heart of Düsseldorf´s Japanese quarter. We not only love that part of town (and go there for almost every lunch break), our agency’s name is also inspired by a Japanese proverb –kittokatsu means „You will surely win“. We also believe that this area is an important part of the diverse culture in the city. That’s why we decided to design a bilingual map to share our love for Japanese culture and to give an overview of "Little Tokyo" to all the Japanophiles out there.

We wanted to create a mixture of an illustrative style and a classic map. So we started with an illustration for the cover and designed an informative map for the inside. We really liked this contrast, but at the same time we kept everything in red to connect the different parts and styles.

We had a really positive reaction to the project. Once a year we have a "Japan Day" in Düsseldorf, so we went there to hand out the map. It was nice to see how people liked our idea.

And we learned a lot about Japanese Food while we were testing all the nice restaurants for the map :)
