These were commissioned for a series of projects at Icalia Labs, a Mexico-based business focused on delivery digital products for business design, web and mobile development.
The icons will be displayed on their Github account accompanying different coding projects for specific tasks: https://github.com/IcaliaLabs
Most are still works in progress, here's one with Apollo on display: https://github.com/IcaliaLabs/apollo
Inspired by characters from greek mythology.
Made with Inkscape and Adobe Illustrator.

I was given the names of each piece of code, they were named after characters from greek mythology. With some research I chose an item or characteristic to identify each character to make them unique among the rest. I wanted to find a simple style that could easily be tied together across the 15 different avatars.

I began with some preliminary sketches in Sketchbook Pro. I made about 4 or 5 base designs to use as faces and garments for the characters.
Then I took these templates to clean up and color with Inkscape to get the basic shapes and colors.
Finally I used Adobe Illustrator for making the details of each individual character.

I received positive reactions and good responses on behalf of Icalia members. No amendments were needed since each graphic stood well on its own and in a group with the rest. All designs were delivered ready for web and with their corresponding original source files.
